Quick answers
How do I check in to a visit?
Find the visit on your Today screen in the iOS app and tap Check In.
How do I raise an SOS alert?
Tap the red SOS button at the top right of any screen in the app and confirm. SaferVisit does not contact emergency services — call 999 first in a life-threatening situation.
What is the welfare timer?
A 30-minute countdown that prompts workers to tap "I'm OK" to confirm they're safe. If it expires, a warning appears with the option to raise an SOS. Enabled by your admin under Settings → Features.
What are worker handover notes?
Notes left by the previous worker for the next person visiting the same client. They appear at the top of the active visit screen and are written at checkout.
What can I log during a visit?
Meals, medication, personal care, wellbeing tasks, mood, free-text notes, and activity chips (cooking, shopping, exercise, community access, etc.) — depending on which features your admin has enabled.
How do I add a worker?
Go to the Workers tab in the app or portal and tap/click + Add Worker.
Can we use QR codes at client properties?
Yes. Admins can enable property QR verification, print the QR card, and workers can scan it before check-in or check-out.
Can admins turn features on or off?
Yes. Go to Settings → Features in the iOS app or the web portal to enable or disable mood tracking, activity log, handover notes, care tasks, clinical data, support plan, welfare timer, and more.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — check-ins, check-outs and notes are saved locally and sync automatically when you're back online.
How do I submit an incident report?
Go to Account → Incident Reports in the iOS app and tap +. Fill in the date, category, severity, and description. Your admin team reviews all reports from the portal.
How do I message my admin team?
Go to Account → Messages in the app. Type and send your message. Admins reply from the portal inbox and you'll receive a push notification when they do.
Where is the rota and timesheets?
Both are in the admin web portal. The Rota shows a weekly grid of all worker visits colour-coded by status. Timesheets calculate actual hours from check-in/out times and can be exported as CSV.
Does GPS get recorded at check-in and checkout?
Yes. The app captures the device's GPS location at both check-in and check-out. Admins can see both locations in the visit detail in the portal, with a direct link to open them in Maps.
How does fall detection work?
SaferVisit uses iPhone sensors to detect a potential fall during an active visit. The worker is prompted to confirm they're OK — no response within 30 seconds triggers an automatic SOS to the admin team.
What is eMAR?
Electronic Medication Administration Records. Workers log each medication as administered, refused, or not required during the visit — with a timestamp and their name attached automatically. Admins see the full record in the portal.
Can family members see visit updates?
Yes — admins can grant relatives access to the Family Portal. They can view visit check-ins, care notes, and mood summaries for their family member only.
What is What3Words in SOS alerts?
When a worker raises an SOS, their precise What3Words 3-word address is included automatically — so responders can pinpoint the worker's exact location even in areas where a street address isn't specific enough.
Can workers use voice notes?
Yes — tap the microphone icon next to any note field during an active visit to dictate notes hands-free. Useful when both hands are needed during personal care.
